The hardest part of seasons in marriage is wondering what to do.
Marriage tends to ebb and flow, seasons if you will. Just as nature's seasons change, so do marriages as we go through life together. These seasons, in marriage, can bring new life and blossoming possibilities (spring), can bring drifting or floating aimlessly (fall), can bring lazy contentment (summer) or the cold harshness of conflict and bitterness (winter). Unlike the seasonal calendar of nature, we rarely can predict when the seasons in marriage will come or change.

I love weddings. Don't you?
I love the romance of them. I love the freshness and the newness of the relationship as the happy couple gaze into each other's eyes. I love how they gaze at each other even when separated by a room full of people. I love the smiles, the laughter, the tears of joy. I love the hope! Most of all I love the hope. In the beginning we have an unending hope. Hope in our futures. Hope in each other. Hope in Love. |
