Loving yourself does not make you vain or self-absorbed... Lara Parker (Buzzfeed Staff)
Wait? What? Be bodacious?
Bodacious! It's a word that came along in the 80's right about the same time as 'totally, gnarly, and stoked'.
Ah, the 80's! Big hair (really big), peg legged jeans, hair bands (no, not what you wear in your hair to keep you bangs out of your face), and... oops, I'm showing my age again, aren't I?
OK, deep breath in, slow breath out, <collecting my thoughts> and coming Back to the Future. See what I did there? ☺
And moving on
What does bodacious mean, I hear you ask? Well, back in the day, it was mostly how a dude described a totally hot babe! Which may or may not apply here depending on who you are.
So in my typical fashion, I went snooping around ye ol' internet and found bodacious also means - excellent, admirable, or attractive; audacious in a way considered admirable.
Now, those are adjectives I want to aspire to. You?
How do we begin to become and see ourselves as excellent, admirable, audacious?
Want my opinion? (HEY! Too bad! You're going to get it anyway ☺)
Being bodacious, starts with taking care of yourself inside and out.
Not just eating right and getting enough sleep (yes, yes, those are important too! What with all that 'you are what you eat' jazz ya hear about)
But there's more to it than just those "take care of your health" habits.
What's inside your head is as much a part of your health as
- eating right
- getting enough sleep
Your thought processes and patterns can affect how bodacious others see you as well as how bodacious you see yourself.
And you should see yourself as bodacious...because you are!!
As it would happen, I found something to help us get started.
