I'll pray you find peace while you're reading in the bathtub today. Tranquility Calm Restfulness Peace & Quiet Peacefulness Quiet Quietness Privacy Solitude Serenity Equanimity Composure Ease Contentment Love Peace of Mind Oh, don't all of those sound absolutely wonderful? *sigh* Do we need all of these things in our lives. I do Do you? I believe I may have found one way to achieve some of these things ...at least for a little while... until the kids or the spouse start banging on the bathroom door or the phone rings or you remember you put a pot on What is this thing I've discovered? A BUBBLE BATH There are some Rules of Engagement When Taking a Bath"The iconic English dandy George “Beau” Brummell, who set trends and influenced royals during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, left behind an enduring legacy that includes the common business suit men still wear today. Not only did he transform fashion, but he also spread his revolutionary ideas about how and when people should clean themselves. In fact, some hold him solely responsible for converting the British populace to a regimen of daily—or at least frequent—bathing. So what were the rules of hygiene Brummell set forth?" Dunn, B. (2013) 4 Rules for Bathing, According to Beau Brummell 1. Take a bath every day. Here I GROW Again How Did You Love Yourself Today? I’m sure most of you have figured out that my goal for 2015 is to spread more peace, love, and happiness.
What better way to spread happiness than to let others see you happy. Now, you can’t actually see me and my happy and I am way to camera shy to put myself in a video so you can. BUT I believe I have discovered a way to share some happy from me to you! ENJOY!!! What better way to begin fulfilling my desire to
spread and live Peace, Love, and Happiness then to identifying ways those three things can be brought to life. I started thinking, what do those three things have in common? What do peace, love, and happiness need in order to be manifested? The answer I kept coming to: The Fruits of the Spirit. We have definitely entered the season of hustle and bustle. Isn't it funny how fast paced this time of year seems to be? Seems like we are always going here, doing this, partying there, buying that. Never a dull moment, huh? Not to mention where DID this year go? Is it really December already? Busy, Busy, Busy! I don't know about you, but I can easily get all wrapped up {snicker} (pardon the pun) in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. I just get swept away with it all! However, this is nothing could be farther from the truth. My world has slowed waaaay down! Back during the first week of November I fractured my ankle. Having a fractured ankle has taught me a few things about this time of year and may have just changed how I 'do' this whole holiday thang and the rest of my life!! I hear you! You're sitting there thinking to yourself, "What in the world is this woman talking about? How can a fractured ankle teach anything about the holidays?" No, No, don't deny it! I know that's what you're thinking, but that's okay because I am about to tell you exactly what you want to know! As I hobbled around, first on crutches, then in a walking cast, and finally in a brace, I have felt like a turtle on a highway of cheetahs (are those the fastest animals on the earth?) Did I really move as fast as these folks before my ankle incident? They move so fast. Always someplace to be, always rushing to get there, was that me, before? My fractured ankle taught me: I miss a LOT I hurry through my days and I don't see things. Yep, I was just like those peeps who are flying by me now as I walk at a snails pace. Yep, I missed things. Things that as a 'hop-a-long' I am now seeing. It didn't matter where I was going, I was so focused on getting 'there', that I was unaware of many things around me. Now, I see new things. The smallest things. Like my neighbors fountain. When did she get a fountain? Like there are lower shelves at Walmart. Seriously, look toward your feet, there they are! See 'em? Who knew, right? When did they put those in? Like an older woman looking a little nervous sitting in the doctor's office. Like the little boy and girl making silly faces at each other while waiting in the grocery line. Have these things always been here? The world moves at an unreal pace Have you seen or experienced the pace of this world? I know that you have. Have you stopped to wonder, why? I have, now. Where do we have to get to in such a hurry? What is so important that we don't take time to even see what or who is around us? Are our lives that full? That fast? That unforgettable? My fractured ankle has taught me; I need to be experiencing the Journey Not just getting to the Destination I've started paying attention to those around me, to places I'm in, to sights, smells and so much more. All these things I never noticed before, until I was FORCED to slow down! What might you be missing as you hustle here and bustle there? I'd love to hear about all of the things you notice as you slow down! Share them in the comments and I promise I'll take the time to read and reply.... after all, I'm not THAT busy! ☺ Learning to Walk (AND BLOG) by Faith, Robyn
