Welp! Here we are...the end of the Diamond in the Rough Scripture series! I can't believe how quickly we covered twenty verses.
For this, the last post, I thought we would reminisce just a little and put together a list of all our scriptures for a point of reference!
Don't forget to save this post somewhere so you will always have these gifts of wisdom.
♦ 2 Timothy 3: 16-17 God gave us the best guidance for everything we will ever experience...the BIBLE! It guides us to see areas we need to improve and where we need to grow
♦ James 1:2-4 Troubles are going to come. God knew it! The troubles grow us and our faith so that we are not deficient in any way.
♦ Philippians 2:14 We need to try to do all things without grumbling or complaining. Not easy but certainly worth making an effort toward.
♦ Ephesians 4: 26-27 Being angry is not bad; you're allowed to be angry. Just don't use your anger or let conflict go to bed with you because the Devil will use it every time!
♦ James 1: 5-8 We don't always know what we are doing but thankfully, our Father LOVES to help, but we have to ask him boldly and believe He will help
♦ 1 Timothy 6:12 It's okay to fight with your spouse. You and your spouse need to be 'fighting' together to improve your marriage. SPAR (Seek, Pray, Ask, Read) with your mate
♦ Ephesians 4:29 We should be speaking to our spouses in ways that life them up and increase their spirit and their faith.
♦ Ephesians 4:31 We should be giving our spouses the best of us. This requires trying to banish resentment, anger, and bitterness from our person.
♦ Ephesians 4:32 Forgiveness, it's not always about the other person, sometimes it is exactly what WE need to break the chains of resentment and bitterness.
♦Ephesians 4:22-24 Changing our marriages is often about changing our minds, thoughts, and actions. Put on a new self!
♦ Galatians 6:9 Don't give up! Continue to be kind and do the right thing in our marriage. We never know what's around the next corner.
♦ Romans 12:10 Delight in respecting our spouses and loving them with a genuine love.
♦ Philippians 4:8 We need to fix our thoughts on what is true, good, and right with our spouses, taking our eyes off of the negative.
Finally, while not a scripture, Ben Franklin tells us we need to "keep our eyes half shut after we get married," which fits right in with our scriptures and all they taught us in this series!
While certainly not exhaustive, I believe these scriptures can make huge differences in how a marriage looks and acts!
I plan to step out in faith and begin implementing a new me that looks more like what God calls me to be as a wife and His child, how bout you?
Learning to walk by faith,
Robyn
